How much does it cost to homeschool?
That's a wide-open question that every family will have to answer for themselves. We know of families who homeschool all their children for less than $100 per year, and we know families who pay several times that amount per child. There seems to be little (if any) correlation between the money spent and the education gained. That is, the child who is homeschooled for practically nothing, and the child who uses a $1000 per year curriculum, are usually both very bright and perform well academically.
Typically, spending less money will require more parental creativity and promotes greater flexibility, whereas spending more money will typically require less work for the parent, but can create a more rigid homeschool environment.
